The Purchase

This feeling,

So odd-

I bought myself running shoes today

With the paycheck I sought after

On my own.

I may not know how to function yet

But today I hit a milestone with the purchase I spent

My time on.

I may not be independent as the “true” adult

But today I took a step forward instead

Of back.
