Day Dreamer - one of my earliest, childish poems
Thoughtfully thinking his thoughts a loud,
His head always seems to be in the clouds.
Whether he’s fighting a dragon made of the sun,
Or telling the stars to say what he has done.
That boy has been born to live as a dreamer,
Filling his life with his thoughtful demeanor.
Filling the world with ideas and good measure,
Opening eyes to see the true treasures.
He has been a great spy undercover,
He has scavenged new lands for mysterious discovers.
He’s met up with Walt Disney and had a nice chat,
He has spent all his money on buying a new hat.
This boy has done it all, and yet there’s still more.
Like time travel, book reading, writing a score!
He never gets bored wherever he is,
He always ends the day with a smiling “I did….”
A satisfied “I did” that makes him sleep well,
You’d think that that boy was under a spell.
Dreaming and pondering of what he will do next,
Making a list that I swear never ends.
I admire that boy, his head full thoughts,
So caught up with things I defiantly forgot,
Forgot what life is, forgot how to think,
Before I know it life will be gone in a blink.
So I remind myself of that day dreaming boy,
He keeps me on my toes as I smile with great joy.
