I follow her along the solid edge,
Bared feet exposed to elements
The sort that dare to bend the winds,
Though flesh does patter along the tangible too.
My inner essence breathes in the cool, salted air,
Basks in the kisses the wave spray shares,
Bathes in the continuity of the sunrise there,
The sun sets as well, but not sadly.
There is a happiness that lingers here,
A joyful lapping of laughter near,
A smile contagious in its ease and lack of fear,
it sinks into the grainy ground and prints patterns.
No matter the continent or coast or calamity,
She walks by my side, taking hold of my sanity,
She listens to my desperations and hears their clarity,
When I need her most, she is there for me.
