Waiting Love (The first poem I wrote that I can recall)
I am stuck in my chilled stone tower,
Trying to figure out what love is.
Just waiting for my knight in amour,
But how am I supposed to know who that is?
My thoughts drift away like the soft innocent clouds,
My hearts sighs with longing ignorance.
There’s doubt in my head that lingers like shadows,
But with my daydreaming I let it slip.
I have turned the pages over and over,
I know love is true from seeing it all around me.
My patience has become a wilting flower,
I try to hold on to my dear sanity.
With this crown on my head aren’t I good enough?
With my heart of warm thoughts will a knight ever notice?
My lioness mane and my confidence are usually a bluff,
So with my speechless cries will a knight even see beyond this?
I sit in my chilled stone tower,
Looking down at the far away ground.
Knowing someone would never bother,
If they were not sure a princess would be found.
